Home » St. Mary of the Nativity Conference to Host Second Annual Friends of the Poor Walk in Scituate

The St. Mary of the Nativity St. Vincent de Paul Conference in Scituate will host its second annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2026, bringing parishioners, families, friends, and community members together to raise funds to help neighbors in need.
Last year’s inaugural walk was a tremendous success, with 125 walkers raising $30,000 to support the work of the St. Mary of the Nativity Conference. Organizers hope to build on that momentum with this year’s event.
Participants will have the opportunity to choose from two walk routes, both beginning at St. Mary of the Nativity:
The routes offer participants a chance to come together as a community while supporting local individuals and families who may be experiencing financial hardship.
The Friends of the Poor Walk is part of a larger effort to raise awareness and financial support for the St. Vincent de Paul mission. Funds raised through the event help the local St. Mary of the Nativity Conference provide assistance to people in the community who are struggling to meet basic needs.
“Come Walk With Us” is the message from organizers, who are encouraging community members to participate, invite friends and family, and help make the 2026 walk another successful event.
